Game Review: Mario Kart for Wii

As one of the best-selling video games in history, Mario Kart is set to rock the Wii console. This game was released in 2009 and is one of the top-selling games for the Wii console. Of course, this version of Mario Kart is upgraded to include better graphics, brighter colors, and better cars.  The point of the game is to race to the finish line without crashing your car. Basically, you have to avoid road objects and other drivers to win the game.

Mario Kart for Wii includes multiplayer modes and online modes for more fun. It has a huge number of obstacle courses so you will never get bored with one track. One new feature is the plethora of dirt bikes and motorcycles in the game. The biggest course is, of course, the “Grand Prix” mode, where you have to beat a dozen other computer-operated players to the finish line.

You can customize your car and set the difficulty level, which is helpful for both beginners and advanced players. The courses are a mix of new and old. You will notice several “old school” courses, like the Waluigi Stadium, that were featured on other consoles. However, Wii has added some new, unique courses to challenge seasoned players. One cool new feature is the “midair stunt,” which you can access with a flick of the wrist. This allows you to do awesome spins and turns in your ride. People who like extreme sports will appreciate this feature. Other stunt obstacles include ramps, pipes, and pits so you can show off your skills.

Mario Kart is a great mixture of new and old. The graphics are better, the courses are improved, but you can still find objects like mushrooms, shells, and starmen throughout the game. Mario Kart has a rating of “E” so even small children can appreciate it.
